Across the U.S. and into the hearts of communities, on Tuesday, July 5, 19 volunteers from Bike and Build, volunteered their day to the Paint Dodge program. The 19 riders assisted with Paint Dodge homes, painting for elderly homeowners.

Bike and Build’s mission is to raise money and awareness for affordable housing across the country.

About every five days Bike and Build have a "Build Day." On Build Days, they partner with a local organization and volunteer.

At the end of the volunteer day Bike & Build riders were given a tour of various current and past project sites throughout Dodge City on the City’s trolley. During their tour they were able to see first-hand the positive impact programs like Paint Dodge, Community Home Renovation program, Abandoned Housing Program have in the Dodge City community.

Bike and Build also learned how the Rural Housing Incentive Districts and Neighborhood Revitalization programs, address housing needs in the community by revitalizing neighborhoods through comprehensive assistance.

Homeowners interested in receiving assistance with paint or other programs available can apply through the Community Housing Association of Dodge City.
