Dodge City Man Arrested after Alleged Violent Strangling with Garden City Woman

A Dodge City, Kan. man was arrested on Aug. 15 for aggravated domestic battery after he had assaulted a Garden City, Kan. woman on Aug. 14.

According to GCPD, Roberson Sully, 38, Dodge City, Kan., could face charges of aggravated domestic battery, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary, and criminal damage.

At around 11:05 p.m. on Aug. 14, Garden City Police Department (GCPD) officers were dispatched to the west part of Garden City for “unknown problems.”

Upon arrival, GCPD met with a woman with visible injuries and learned she had been in a physical altercation with a man known to her.

Investigation revealed the woman was asleep in her residence when she woke up to the man, identified as Sully, allegedly yelling at her and strangling her. S

ully allegedly pulled the woman out of bed and continued to batter her throughout the residence and prevented her from leaving. During the altercation, the woman was able to break free from Sully before he fled the scene. The woman received treatment for her injuries from Finney County EMS.

Officers searched the area but were unable to locate Sully.

The Dodge City Police Department was advised of the crime and responded to Sully’s residence but did not locate him.

On Aug. 15, at around 7:20 p.m., Sully was arrested at the Finney County Law Enforcement Center and lodged in the Finney County Jail.
