With increasingly hot and humid temperatures, heat-related illnesses will be on the rise, as such Ford County Health Department has issued a few tips on protecting yourself during the higher heat indexes.
Ford County Health Department advises people to:
Stay cool and in an air-conditioned environment as much as possible.
Stay hydrated and drink plenty of non-carbonated fluids.
Avoid sugary and alcoholic drinks.
Be sure to watch for signs of heat-related illness.
If you feel sick and suspect it may be from a heat-related illness, get medical help.
