Garden City Police Department (GCPD) arrested a man for stealing a car and then threatening the owner and another individual with a pocketknife on April 23.
Jessie Borrego, 31, Garden City, Kan., was charged with Aggravated Battery and Theft (F).
At 11:45 a.m., GCPD responded to the 1500 block of N. 13th Street for a reported auto theft.
Officers met with the reporting party, who stated Borrego), transient, had taken her Ford Fusion without permission.
Later in the day, the reporting party, and another individual observed Borrego walking in the 1700 block of E. Fulton Street and confronted him about the vehicle.
Borrego allegedly pulled out a pocketknife and began swinging it toward both individuals and yelled obscenities. Borrego began chasing one of the victims with the knife before fleeing on foot.
Officers located Borrego and took him into custody. Borrego was lodged in the Finney County Jail.
