Garden City Police Department (GCPD) arrested a man on June 13 for child endangerment and DUI following an accident where he struck two buildings and a power pole.

At around 5:20 p.m. GCPD, Garden City Fire Department, and Finney County EMS responded to the 1200 block of N. Taylor Avenue for an injury accident, involving a vehicle that struck a building and a power pole.

Officers located a Ford F150 with damage to the front passenger and driver sides, parked on the corner of Jenny Avenue and N. 11th Street.

GCPD observed the driver, identified as Ramon-Gastulo, and an 11-year-old passenger exiting the vehicle.

Investigation revealed Ramon-Gastulo sideswiped the east wall of Dillons West and headed southeast, eventually striking a utility pole on the west side of Post Rock Trading Company. The vehicle then sideswiped the west wall of Post Rock Trading Company and continued through a privacy fence and sidewalk handrail of the Dillons West parking lot.

The vehicle exited the parking lot and came to a stop on the corner of Jenny Avenue and N. 11th Street.

Further investigation determined Ramon-Gastulo was suspected of driving under the influence.

Ramon-Gastulo was arrested and lodged in the Finney County Jail.

Ramon-Gastulo and the 11-year-old child were not injured from the accident. The total estimated property damage is over $20,000.00.
