Dodge City’s Recycling Advisory Board and Community Recycling Environmental Waste (CREW) will be at the Jane Longmeyer Recycling Center to accept recycled products during the Great American Cleanup event.

The Recycling Advisory Board has partnered once with multiple Dodge City and Ford County agencies to provide a wide range of recycling opportunities for the public.

Ford County Household Hazardous Waste will be set up for safe disposal of household hazardous waste.

They will dispose of unwanted paint products, automotive products, pesticides, herbicides, batteries, anything flammable and poisonous no longer needed. Empty containers can be disposed of in personal trash cans.

The Ford County Household Hazardous program is free, and their regular hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 10972 113 Rd. Call 620-227-4525 for further information.

Old electronics or E-waste including computers, VCR's, phones, desktop copiers and printers, scanners, and flat-screen televisions are now always accepted at the center for recycling.

Question and further information on e-waste drop-off, can be answered by Public Works staff at 620-225-8170.

The Dodge City Police Department will be on-site at the Great American Cleanup event to accept unwanted and outdated prescription medications. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

Also available, the Ford County Humane Society will be accepting donations of good condition and clean pet crates, beds, towels, blankets, leashes, collars, food bowls, and food.

Lastly, CREW will be accepting flower vases to be donated for reuse.

“The Dodge City Recycling Advisory Board hopes that everyone will take this special Saturday opportunity to clean their property and safely dispose of the items with these sponsors,” said the City of Dodge City in a release.
