[FINNEY COUNTY, Kan.]
Traffic changes are now underway on eastbound U.S. 50/400 near Farmland Road in Garden City, Kan. according to the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT).
U.S. 50/400 traffic will be reduced to one lane and the eastbound right-turning lane at Farmland Road will be closed. Large commercial traffic from eastbound U.S. 50/400 will be unable to turn right and go southbound onto Farmland Road. Large commercial traffic will need to seek alternative routes from the north, east or south roadways, via Raceway and Mansfield Road. Only passenger vehicles will be permitted to turn right.
These changes to traffic are necessary to allow the City of Garden City to undergo a construction project on Farmland Road.
KDOT stated the lane reduction will be in effect until late July.
Motorists should be aware of minor delays and traffic congestion in the area. The lane reduction will be marked by signs and cones before and throughout the area.
