Men's Soccer Cruises Past NOC-Tonkawa for Sixth Win

Dodge City men's soccer continued to find the back of the net this season as they had their third game this season with six or more goals beating Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa 6-0 in a non-conference showdown.

The Conquistadors looking for some retribution from last year's tough loss in Tonkawa and did so with the 6-0 win to move to 6-2 on the season.

Despite the Conqs controlling the pace and outshooting Tonkawa 11-0 in the first half, the contest went into halftime with a 1-0 Conqs lead as Bastien Dechamps tallied the first goal of the game off a Yanis Debbarh assist. It didn't take long into the second half for the Conqs to extend their lead as Janik Buch recorded a goal which was followed by the eighth goal of the season by Marlon Lopez four minutes later.

Conqs added a goal from Andres Rocha, Chris Velez, and Pedro Schafer da Silva to cap the scoring and claim the 6-0 win which is their fourth in the last five meetings with the Mavericks.

On the day the Conqs controlled the game outshooting Tonkawa 24-2 in the win. Six different Conqs tallied goals as Dechamps, Buch, Lopez, Rocha, Velez, and Schafer da Silva each tallied a goal, while Alan Salamanca, Gaetan Francois, Lopez, Debbarh, and Velez each recorded an assist.

Conqs are back in KJCCC action next to continue their season as they will host Garden City on Wednesday, September 21st at 5:30 pm.
