Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) announced on Aug. 9, traffic changes are scheduled to start on Aug. 29 along U.S. 83 from the U.S. 83/K-96 junction to the Scott/Logan County line.

U.S. 83 traffic will be reduced to one lane through the project area.

KDOT advised motorists should be aware of delays of up to 15 minutes as one-lane traffic will be directed by flaggers and a pilot car through the work zone. The lane reduction will be marked by signs and cones. When construction is not taking place, U.S. 83 will be open to normal traffic.

Venture Corporation of Great Bend is the contractor on the $5.4 million project, which is expected to be completed by the end of September, weather permitting.
