Track & Field Closes Out Year Competing at NJCAA DI Outdoor Championships

The 2022 outdoor track and field season came to a close last week as the Dodge City track and field team had a few competitors in action at the NJCAA Division I Outdoor Championships in Hutchinson, Kansas.


Leading the performances for the Conquistadors was Shade Torres who earned a spot on the podium competing in the javelin. Torres with a throw of 36.04m (118'03") in the javelin she placed seventh out of 21 competitors.


Machala Hengen also competed at Nationals racing in the 400-meter hurdles posting a time of 1:07.77. She was partnered with On'Hay Phillips, Brianisha Rolling, and Krissalynn Henderson who raced in the 4x100 meter relay posting a time of 47.48.
