Two Garden City People Airlifted to Wichita Following Motorcycle Accident; Investigation ongoing

Two people were airlifted to Wichita, Kan. for extensive injuries following a motorcycle crash in Garden City, Kan. on Aug. 14.

At around 1:30 a.m., Garden City Police Department officers were dispatched to Ollie’s Bargain Outlet located at 2302 E. Kansas Ave. where a motorcycle had crashed and was on fire.

When officers arrived, they located the male driver Jedediah Clepper, 23, Garden

City, Kan., and female passenger Mayra Lucero, 17, Garden City, Kan., lying on the ground with significant injuries.

Investigation revealed Clepper was driving recklessly through the parking lot

when the motorcycle struck a cart corral. The collision caused the motorcycle to skid,

ejecting both Clepper and Lucero. When the motorcycle came to a rest, it caught fire.

Both individuals were flown to Wichita due to the extent of their injuries.

According to GCPD, the investigation is ongoing.
