The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) reported a woman and three teens were taken to the hospital after receiving serious injuries following a single vehicle crash in Ford County on May 15.
The crash was reported at 10:37 a.m., about three miles west of the US-50 and US-400 highway junction.
According to the KHP crash log, a 1999 Mercury Mountaineer sport utility vehicle was eastbound on US-50 when it had a mechanical issue with its tires.
The Delores Cisneros Reyes, 36, Deerfield, Kan., then lost control of the vehicle, which rolled into the north ditch.
Reyes was transported to St. Catherine’s Hospital in Dodge City with serious injuries. The KHP state she was wearing her seat belt.
Also transported to St. Catherine’s Hospital were passengers Yessenia Said-Reyes, 19, Deerfield; Dylan Gibson, 18, Deerfield; and Nathan Vargas, 17, Lakin, Kan.
Said-Reyes was confirmed to be wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident, while Gibson and Vargas were not wearing their seatbelts.
